Ensemble Musical Offering in Education
When it comes to education, there is no question that Ensemble Musical Offering, Milwaukee’s Midwest Bande for Early Music, is a leader in the field of early music and committed to education and community outreach on a variety of levels.
Ensemble Musical Offering, is made up of two generations of outstanding instrumentalists performing on original instruments who are all educator performers. Many of its string and wind players are faculty in major colleges and universities and continue education in private studios throughout the Greater Milwaukee, Madison and Chicago areas.
What sets Ensemble Musical
Offering apart from others?
We are the cutting-edge producer of early music in our region. We don't bring in outside artists and ensembles; rather our artists are part of the fabric of our community who put the fresh face on early music!

In 2000, Ensemble Musical Offering was chosen to receive the prestigious Early Music Brings History Alive Award for outstanding educational outreach sponsored by Early Music America, the organization serving the international field of early music. For five years Ensemble Musical Offering visited both public and private grade schools with high impact programs showcasing the world of Johann Sebastian Bach as part of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra's Project ACE (Arts in Community Education program). As part of its four-year American Bach Project, Musical Offering sponsored the Bach Young Artist Showcase Competition. Today, it is working hand in hand with the Fourth Annual Milwaukee Baroque Festival and Competition for young people.
Currently, our early music artists work with other community organizations and institutions such as MYSO (Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra), the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Department of Music, in school residencies from Whitefish Bay to Wauwatosa and with major colleges and universities throughout the State of Wisconsin.
As you may know, the arts community in general has received severe cutbacks in government funding for arts-in-education; cutbacks that drastically effect our ability to impact the lives of area children. If you're a teacher, a proud parent or concerned citizen, please consider a donation to Musical Offering in Education. Send us a check or click on Contribute to help us preserve our Western musical heritage for generations to come.
